Nike Mag 2011 Limited to 1,500 Pair
The Internet’s buzzing with news that Nike is releasing the Nike Air Mag sneakers that lace themselves that Marty McFly wore in Back to the Future II.
Nike said Thursday that it has created a limited-edition shoe based on the model audiences saw in the 1989 movie. Sneaker and movie fans have urged the company for years to create the shoe.
Nike will release 1,500 pairs of the 2011 Nike Mag sneaker. It will auction them on eBay and donate proceeds to the Michael J. Fox Foundation. Fox famously played Marty McFly in the “Back to the Future” time-travel trilogy, where he wore the glowing sneakers that laced themselves during a visit to the year 2015. The shoes have been selling between $35,000 and $75,000 U.S. dollars.-Washington Post
